Kevin D. Roberts, Ph.D.
Kevin D. Roberts, Ph.D., is the President of The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action for America, roles he has held since October 2021 and September 2023, respectively. Under his leadership, Heritage has sharpened its focus on key conservative priorities like education, healthcare, border security, and election integrity, while spearheading Project 2025—a bold, visionary plan to restore constitutional governance, rebuild federal agencies, and ensure America’s political institutions reflect the will of the people. Prior to joining Heritage, Roberts served as CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, where he expanded the organization’s reach and influence nationwide. He also served as President of Wyoming Catholic College, where he led the institution to reject federal student aid to preserve its Catholic identity.
Roberts earned his Ph.D. in American History from the University of Texas, a master’s degree from Virginia Tech, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He began his academic career as a history professor before transitioning into educational leadership. In 2006, he founded John Paul the Great Academy, a K–12 Catholic liberal arts school in Lafayette, Louisiana, and served as its president and headmaster for seven years. His tenure at Wyoming Catholic College was marked by a commitment to religious liberty and academic independence, earning national attention for the college's decision to forgo federal student loans and grants.
In 2024, Roberts authored Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America, a book that outlines his vision for a "New Conservative Movement" and critiques institutions such as the FBI and Black Lives Matter. The book, which includes a foreword by Vice President J.D. Vance, has been described as a manifesto for a transformative conservative agenda. Roberts' leadership in Project 2025 has positioned him as a central figure in efforts to reshape American governance according to conservative ideals.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Roberts resides in Washington, D.C., with his wife and their four children. A devout Catholic, he is known for his commitment to faith, family, and community. Whether advocating for policy reforms or engaging with his family, Roberts approaches his work with a steadfast dedication to conservative principles and a deep sense of responsibility to future generations.
